Sometimes when you catch sight of a lovely illustration in a book, newspaper or the like, the “wow” word might unintentionally come out with lots of excitement.

The appreciation together with great curiosity arises.

So here we go.

An illustrator on MakiPlace is going to share with us about this interesting job.

Hi, could you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m a freelance illustrator and graphic designer from Indonesia. I want to sell illustrations and other kinds of digital products as well. I’ve opened a shop on MakiPlace named Dendrobium.

What are you selling? Why and how did you make it?

I’m selling illustration templates. That’s what I find myself really good at and interested in. I use Sketch and Doodle to create any illustration I like. I don’t want to create and sell poor stuff. Instead, I prefer to put awesome items on sale, so I always try as best as I can.

How do you get inspired? Where do your ideas come from?

I create different kinds of illustrations. They’re all about flowers, animals, food and beverages, sports and culture for now. Thus, the observation of the surrounding is critically important, but it’s also a great source of inspiration for me.

Any tips for designers and developers on selling their stuff?

Well, in this regard, I think many designers are better than me.

Which feature would you like to see on MakiPlace?

My suggestion would be contested feature, which means we can see who are the best shop owners or which products are best-selling on a monthly or quarterly basis. I think it’s a good idea.

What are your favorite resources for design and development?

I usually use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create illustrations and other kinds of digital products. Both of them own a collection of useful tutorials and supportive community that I can come for help anytime.

Such a pity that Dendrobium has no products for reference at present. However, you can save this shop address on MakiPlace for the future visit. If you’re looking for some good illustrations, just pay a short visit to our Illustrations category.
