Hi, could you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m Ashraf Yehia from Egypt. I love PHP coding and now I’m the founder of Peepdev.com. My online shop on MakiPlace has the same name too.

What are you selling? Why and how did you make it?

I create and sell Peepmatches script for social dating. As I know, the online dating business has become more and more popular. Many people want to have their own dating website. That’s why I decided to create Peepmatches script. I aim to provide these people with a complete solution in order to start their online dating business.

How do you get new ideas for product development?

I consider a lot before adding any feature or creating a new plugin for Peepmatches. I try to put myself in users’ shoes to see what they may need when using a dating website. For example, if users want to meet a new person via the online dating site, what feature can help them do it easier?

Doing some research is another useful way to go. I try accessing and using many popular websites related to my projects. After taking stock of what they provide and what they don’t, I can make a decision on what features should be added to my products. I always want to give my customers something more unique.

However, above all, customers are what inspires me the most for sure. We here at Peepdev always attentively listen to our customers’ voices. All of their suggestions for new features or improvements will be garnered and considered to create something different.

Any tips for designers and developers on selling their stuff?

Past experiences taught me a lot. When I created my first project and decided to sell it, it died a death after just a few months because it owned things typical of another project. My lesson is that if you want your product to be alive, try to make something new. Although the tech world is now flooded with ideas and anything might have been created already, you can add something new to attract more customers come to purchase.

There are also other things that you should not turn your nose up at.

Firstly, make sure you respect others’ copyright. Copyright violation should be avoided one way or another.

Next, be patient! It would be impossible to gain hundreds of sales right on the first day. You can spend time considering how your product will become popular, how to persuade customers to purchase your products.

Don’t let your products stay behind the trend. It is recommended that you make regular updates and try to add something new in every update.
Finally, I hope you remember your customers are the reason for your success, so make them satisfied and give them support whenever they want.

If you’re asking about resources like frameworks, I would prefer to start from scratch with PHP and skeleton way, HTML, HTML5, and CSS.
